Get Involved

There are 2 ways to be involved with Radio Monash

About

Radio Monash is the source for information on the creative output of Monash University. From research to performing arts, from politics to music, from Indigenous affairs to alumni news - we aim to highlight what is happening here and now at the university and look at how this output impacts on the world.

New Site

Things are still being moved around from the old site, but it's all coming together quickly. One thing that's not quite there yet are the user accounts. These will be restored shortly, and attribution of reviews and other content will be fixed up at that time.

Listen

Live Streams

We have a variety of options for you to listen in. Clicking on one of these links should open it up in your system's default media player.

  1. High Quality (ideal for on-campus)
  2. Medium Quality (broadband at home)
  3. Low Quality (for those on dial-up connections)

iPhone

Yes we thought about making some funky little app, but really why reinvent what's been done very well already?

We recommend you install FStream on your iPhone.

Go ahead and tap that link from your phone. It'll take you to the app store and you can install it right now. It's free, and we'll wait for you. Don't be alarmed by the French in the screenshots, the application works in English just fine.

Got it? Good. Now launch FStream, touch "Favorites" down the bottom, then "Edit" at the top, then "Add new webradio".

Put "Radio Monash" in the Name, or some other helpful memory aid. The URL you want is one of the following:

  • High Quality: http://radio.monash.edu:8002/hq
  • Medium Quality: http://radio.monash.edu:8002/mq
  • Low Quality: http://radio.monash.edu:8002/lq

We'd strongly recommend using the lowest quality version you can stand if you plan on listening to Radio Monash over a 3G connection, unless you're absolutely sure what affect it will have on your data usage allowances.
