PODCAST: Episode 4 – In the Nick of time

This week’s episode wasn’t all fun and games as my new business partner, Nick Pederson, came into the studio to make business decisions. Nick and I teamed up to disrupt the huge industry of University Shuttle Bus Timetabling and Nick was so impressed with me during the interview he promised me 100% of profits from our new lucrative app.  When not making big corporate decisions Nick and Jamie discussed their shared love of comedy podcasts. We also explored how Nick’s employment with a not-for-profit company made him revaluate his university studies and career goals. Nick also explains how his parents were accepting of his desires to get into the start-up industry thanks to their past business of squash court ownership. Lastly Nick, a self-confessed modern-pentathlon expert, and I try to come up with an even better and more varied sport for the Olympics.

Businesses use this to their advantage and enhance their branding by spreading their services and products globally from within their respective countries. Social media is far spread amongst societies and has become the center of news. Online Employment: A Web of Problems

As a Uni student, I am poor. Though the year began with an acceptable amount of cash in my pocket, currently my account is on the verge of bankruptcy. Nevertheless, I persevered and followed the idea is gaining employment. Searching for a job, it seems, is now interactive. Sites like Job in a Click, Indeed, Jobspot and LinkedIn attempt to aid in job finding online. Companies like Sheridan and Myer only accept applications and resumes online; almost every major company seems to be online now. But still, I had, and still do have, trouble gaining employment.

New Hokkaido Bullet Train Debut Sour Struggling with Fewer Users

 

On the 26th of March, Saturday, the shinkansen, or a bullet train which directly links to Honshu main island and Hokkaido opened in Japan. It stretches 148.8km which is from Aomori, the north most prefecture on the main island and Hakodate, which is the southern city in Hokkaido. The opening of this new line enables people travel directly from Tokyo to Hakodate without taking a transit on their way.  In addition, its speed which is designed to run 320km/h by the fastest speed will take passengers from Tokyo to Hakodate in four hours, and the fare is about 230 AUD (converted from JP yen to AUD).
