Meet Adrian. He’s kinda crazy, is metal and is currently writing this introduction. Adrian has mental powers that involve telekinesis, attracting women and repulsing everyone else. But his greatest power is turning you into an obsessed, crazy metalhead just like him. So if you intend to be just like Adrian (and nothing like Julius Caesar… I mean Donald Trump) you should listen to the sentinel, and then you should take your clothes off, run down the street with a boom box playing slayer, then lie in a park and glory in your sexiness.
Hosted by Paul Waxman with special guest Adam Flemming
On this episode, we get extra time, we discuss Mika, we talk about Johnny Depp and get no callers.
Hosted by Daniel Wotherspoon and Ant Bruce
On DnA this week we discuss disabled bathroom etiquette and how safety houses (remember that yellow triangle, smiley face sticker on some houses when you were a kid?) can be used with Pokemon GO. The show finishes up with some of the week’s news headlines. Enjoy!
The crate brings you a playlist to chill out and quell your midsem woes!
This week I was joined in the studio by Paul Waxman. Luckily when we sat down in the studio we got off on a better foot then the first time I met him the week before when I was grump. Paul hosts the show before me on Radio Monash. Paul, I learnt, despite initially having little interest in English became very passionate in his final year of high school thanks to the impact of a tutor. His interest led him to start a Bachelor of Journalism and Arts majoring in Film and Television studies. Outside of his studies Paul has a serious addiction to vinyl forking over a small fortune for a pretty serious collection. If you enjoyed my interview with Paul, have a listen to his show “From Start to Finish” every Friday at 3pm.
This week we dived into drum & bass! I had a special guest Nathan help me listen to and comment on a selection of great tracks. We mainly played retro tunes but a couple of personal favourites and modern mixes as well. Whilst not a strictly drum & bass track, The Prodigy’s No Good (Start the Dance) was a highlight, as well as going even further back to 1993 with Origin Unknown and a mix of Valley of the Shadows.
Hi guys! This week, Peggie couldn’t make it to her show so Sahana and Sayu took over. Sahana and Sayu were accompanied by Nathan and Mr. Krabs (Yes, that is his name). So, they talked about Youtube, the tragedy in Syria and had some friendly banter. We found out that Mr. Krabs has 250 followers on tumblr (Kudos on that!). We had 2 callers (Yay us!), one of which was a prank caller (someone from our own station at that!). It was a lot of fun! Listen to know more!
Hosted by Paul Waxman
On this week’s episode I discuss Radiohead, I kick my “guest” out of the studio, I run out of time and I cry over this depressing album.
Remarkably unprepared I walked into the Beaumaris Theatre having not so much as googled the synopsis of “Avenue Q”. Billed as a twisted version of Sesame Street for adults, the show takes place in a street of the same name in which puppets, monsters and humans live together in harmony, more or less. Our central character Princeton, played by the incredible Josh Pratt, arrives on the street having recently completed his BA in English and at a point of cross-roads in his life unsure of where his life will take him. “Avenue Q” explores the life of your typical 20-something graduate entering the real world, a first look at real adulthood, navigating love, money and finding a purpose in life. The musical teaches us that sometimes life sucks, through plenty of painfully relatable misfortunes presented as humorous musical acts, puppetry and a hilarious script. Read more …
