9:00- 12:00pm
$7 In the Dining Room
SEE IMAGE ATTACHED
Singer/songwriter Josh Murphy takes the black cloud of bad luck hanging over his head, and turns it into simple, thought-provoking balladry reminiscent of the Eels, Thirsty Merc and Dave Matthews. Flanked by talented blues guitarist Steve Martin, and introducing new drummer Brad Cameron, they together form Josh Murphy's Filthy Soup. A distinct blend of folk, pop, rock and blues that can chill you to the bone or get your toes-tapping; all in the space of half an hour!
Josh brings his stage name “Murphy” from Murphy's Law, also a title of one of his main tracks. Consolidating this theme, he writes of unrequited and lost love, broken families, broken dreams and political insecurities. There is an upside to the writing though - the fantasy world of women, friends and finding a “Reason to Breathe” through music. See them perform live with roots rockers SoulHarmoniX, and the very talented pop stylings of Tash Anderson at the Edinburgh Castle Hotel

The Hawaiian Islands, Injured Ninja, Terrordactyl, Paris Riots

The Injured Ninja knows victory or death – there is no compromise. Yet unbeknownst to the east coast – in their western homelands the Ninja is notorious for insane improvisational gigs and intense set performances, playing with a myriad of different styled bands and quickly becoming one of the most unique acts playing the various noise hovels of Perth . Having toured to the spiritual homeland of Japan in February 2009, Injured Ninja are about to drop their first single (a split 12” with the psychedelic gravy of French Rockets) through local experimental label Heartless Robot Records. Due early January, the single includes a DVD featuring an intense self-produced series of tripped-out videos.
